I live in a lovely, family oriented neighborhood in La Habra, California, have been breeding dogs since 1998 and showing dogs since 2002. I am a proud member of The Havanese Club of America, where I am a Breeder of Merit. I am passionate about my "furkids" and love talking with you whether you want to give one of my precious little ones a home, or you just are gathering information so you can make a wise choice. Please ask lots of questions of any breeder from whom you are thinking about purchasing a puppy. They should provide you with copies of all health certifications. Don't just take their word for it. This is a life time commitment, so please choose carefully. You might spend a little more money initially when you buy from a reputable breeder, but you will spend much more in vet bills over the life time of your pet if you buy a puppy that develops numerous health problems.
This is a picture of me holding Bitsy, my first Bred-By Champion, AKC CH Artwyrks Justa Bit of Elegance (2007-2024). She's the one who started it all! I started with Bichons and through friends who had bichons and havanese fell in love with this delightful breed, so now have only havanese. I breed to the AKC breed standard, I only breed dogs who have passed all age appropriate genetic health tests, and only to better the breed. I love to show my dogs and occasionally keep a puppy to show; however, I prefer to place my little ones in companion homes in which they will be dearly loved so they can bless you as they continue to bless my home with love and laughter.
The greatest single reason I got started in this endeavor is my little pet store Bichon, Kaytee, pictured above. She passed away on Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at the age of sixteen years. She suffered from many health issues because of unethical backyard breeding. I loved her dearly and she will always be in my heart. I cared for her for her entire life, no matter the cost financially or emotionally. However, if I can do my small part in preventing others from going through the same anguish, then I've accomplished my mission. Click on the following link to see the health testing I do.
